Seattle.rb Contest for NYC.rb Rubyists 5 comments

A few months ago I unwisely pledged to donate my hosting referral bonuses to the Seattle.rb. That has now grown into a small fortune that could have bought me a shiny new laptop. However, being an honest person with aspirations toward philanthropy, I’ve decided to start by flying a Rubyist from NYC to Seattle to speak at our monthly meeting sometime this fall.

To enter, send a proposal to me by August 1 (boss@topfunky.com). It doesn’t need to be long…even just a title might do. We will look through the proposals and choose the most interesting one. Proposals that are primarily about Rails will probably fall to the bottom of the stack, but all proposals will be considered.

The winner will receive one round-trip plane ticket to Seattle (date to be determined), meals, and a free night to sleep on Ryan’s couch. Or maybe a hotel room if you’re too high class for that.

Void where prohibited, etc. If this is successful, I might extend the next contest to all of North America.
